Air Travel with Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors

You may be denied permission to airmail, or fly with Williamsburg Handmade Artist Oil Colors, unless you are able to prove that they pose no hazard. The statement below provides the information the authorities need to make the proper determination, you may print this page or download a PDF of the IATA statement:

Nearly all Williamsburg Handmade Oil Colors are not "Dangerous Goods" as classified in the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations as they do not fall within any applicable class description of "Dangerous Goods". A "UN NUMBER" does not apply to these materials because such numbers are assigned only to "Dangerous Goods" by the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.

The exceptions to the above are: Williamsburg Flake White, Lead Oil Ground and Silver White which are lead-pigmented products, classified as “UN3082, Environmentally Hazardous Substance, liquid, N.O.S. (Lead Carbonate Hydroxide)”. However, these materials are exempt from regulation in package quantities of 5 liters or less (per IATA DGR 4.4 SP A197).
